Fort Steele Heritage Town

Fort Steele Heritage Town is open June 22 for the 2025 season under the new leadership of the Cranbrook Archives, Museum, and Landmark Society (CAMAL).
During our soft opening period, visitors can explore the boardwalks, visit a selection of heritage buildings and exhibits, enjoy wagon rides, and experience the beginnings of a revitalized Fort Steele. Please note that some areas and programs are still being phased in as we prepare for a full summer season launch.
We will be open Thursdays through Mondays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please note that Fort Steele will be closed Monday, June 30 and on Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1.
Our Grand Opening Celebration takes place July 5, marking the start of expanded programming and site access.
This summer is just the beginning. CAMAL is working toward establishing year-round operations at Fort Steele, with more seasonal events, programs, and off-season activities to come.
Be the first to know what's happening by following us on social media and subscribing to the CAMAL newsletter! Your next Fort Steele adventure is just around the corner.
